Director Chandoo Mondeti made banging debut with Karthikeya which made hero Nikhil Siddharth a star. The director wanted to make a straight Telugu film with Naga Chaitanya, but he was asked to remake Malayalam cult classic Premam in Telugu.
Chandoo has proved his mettle by remaking Premam pleasingly. "It needs guts to remake Premam," said Nagarjuna at the film's success meet. Akhil also lauded the director at different platform for rightly handling the project.
Apparently, Chandoo didn't feel bad when he was offered Premam remake. It was a big challenge for him and he accepted it to prove that he can deal any kind of subject.
It wasn't a frame to frame remake. Director Chandoo made enough changes to suit Telugu sensibilities and smartly added humor in last episodes of second half where original version appeared bit lackluster.
More importantly, fans are happy to see makeover of Naga Chaitanya in three different stages and of course his performance was applauded by one and all, thanks to Chandoo who took best care on every sector. Right now, Chandoo is enjoying Premam success and he is expected to announce his next project soon.
