The governor of Santa Catarina Raimundo Colombo and Secretary of State for Health, John Paul Kleinubing met with the Minister of Health, Ricardo Barros in Brasilia. The meeting in the morning of Tuesday served to discuss new elections for the state and reiterate the need for the release of funds for hospitals and for the regularization of joint effort surgeries Colombo said that the Ministry has recognized the work done by Santa Catarina and even would have already paid a portion of what was invested. In the case of joint effort surgeries, the governor said that the state asks about R $ 50 million and that the government would have recognized R $ 20 million. To repay the difference, they were brought new elements that prove the investment made by SC.

The minister said the SC requests are fair and that, in fact, the state has a very large production in the health service area. Barros explains that have enabled the features that were recognized and handled in the Ministry, but that the budget cap prevents the confirmation of new skills.
- Unfortunately the revenue drop in the federal government is restricting the budgetary capacity. Financial we have, why we do an economy with our management, but we have no budget. We are working with the Ministry of Planning to find this budget space and be able to expand support for SC health service - justified.
Colombro, reiterated that the speech of the Minister on the budget problems resulting from the fall collection, also said that we must join together to "solve this problem and not aggravate the issue of health care even more."
Finally, Kleinubing said that the state has produced more than it receives from the Ministry, particularly in the case of elective surgery. Nevertheless, the Secretary described the meeting as positive and highlighted the progress in being able to talk about it with the government.
- The State, in a way, is bankrolling and need to have the recognition of the Federal Government, to be able to continue producing. We need to value the professionals and allow the state to continue operating the service and serving the population - he said.
